NMAIMH Endorsement (IMH-E®) Competency Details and Requirements
The materials supporting the NMAIMH Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health are copyrighted by the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH). The NMAIMH is able to make these materials available to our membership through a licensing agreement with the MI-AIMH. To understand the relationship between the NMAIMH, the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health (MI-AIMH), and the 17 other states using this same process for Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health, you can read the Background and Introduction to the Competency Guidelines here.

Portfolios for Infant Family Associates (Level I) and Infant Family Specialists (Level II) will be accepted whenever Endorsement Advisors and applicants agree that portfolios are ready to be submitted. There is no written exam required for these two Levels of endorsement.
Exams for Level III and IV are offered twice a year, usually in October and May. Please look for submission deadlines to be announced on our Events page and EASy greeting. Additionally, please check in with your Endorsement Advisor if you are planning on sitting for the exam. Specific details of the Exam location will be given to those invited to sit for the Exam.
